Beaver Leader Required

We were very sad to hear that, due to work commitments, our Beaver Leader, Luke Minshall, will be “hanging up his woggle” in the summer. We are very grateful to Luke for his leadership and previously,
assistant leadership of the Beaver colony over the last few years.

This leaves a big hole in the leadership of the scout group. The Beaver Colony is a child’s first rung on the ladder of his or her Scouting
career, so it is vital that we find new leadership as soon as possible. We are delighted that Sue Dockar has been assisting Luke and I
personally, am grateful to Sue for all the hard work she puts in to the running of the colony.

Ideally we would like a new Beaver Leader, plus another assistant, to help to run the group. All leaders will be vetted through the CRB
system and by the Scout Association. Full training will be given. I am sure that Luke and Sue will help you through the first few weeks to help you settle in and the Scout Group will be on hand to provide
continuing support.

Beavers meet on Monday nights between 6:15 and 7:15. We are an active, happy group and are looking forward to a full Scout group event in October this year.

It would be a real shame to see the Beaver colony have to close for lack of leadership. The rewards are great! I will not give you the old chestnut about it only being an hour a week! There is preparation time and we have a Group leader’s meeting about 4 times a year. Scouting is going from strength to strength and you will belong to one of the biggest youth movements in the world. Please don’t let our thriving group die for lack of leadership.
